Westbank, Transfer 7, Week 3, Jan 6, 2014

Hello!
So it has been an absolutely crazy week. It's been kinda cold, but still manageable, things are plodding along slowly, but surely.
R's back. Turns out that everything that we thought was going on isn't quite true. N twisted it and made it seem worse than it was. We got a call from her on Saturday and saw her on Sunday during church. Right now, we are still not teaching her, because we don't exactly feel safe with N around. Hopefully, within a few days he'll be gone, but at this point, we are just letting the ward handle this. And then we will go back to teaching her. Don't worry, everything is perfectly safe. And, as complicated as it makes things, I'm actually glad about this, because it means that R was being honest with us. I knew it! Nothing from earlier made any sense at all, and now it has been all straightened out. :)
Also, N refuses to say yes to baptism, even though she loves church and loves the way she feels around us and the members. But yesterday, she came to a baptism (this is her second one she has attended) and apparently, she asked one of the members who has been fellowshipping her if he would baptize her! Crazy! The last time we had asked her to get baptized in February, she said maybe February of 2015! So we have no idea what is going on there. It's crazy.
I'm loving missionary work right now. Even though there aren't a lot of people who are super interested (it's kinda hard to find new investigators right now), there is something wonderful about being able to talk to people about God and Christ and the Atonement and not worrying that they think you are a little nuts. Also, the members here are working so hard to help us. They have some absolutely incredible stories, everything from some crazy persecution to amazing conversion stories, to simply trying so hard to find someone to teach despite the fact that people keep shutting them down. It is so inspiring, as a full time missionary, to see so many people trying so hard to help us. This ward just barely became a ward this summer and they are so hard working. Also, it is so beautiful and I want to see a temple here some day. Honestly, it is the perfect location for it. I'll send you a picture of where the chapel is soon.
I love you all!
Sister Peterson
