Westbank Transfer 6, Week 2, November 25, 2013

It has been a bit of an insane week. To briefly summarize: R is amazing, we have a creepy guy we are trying to avoid, no new investigators, we reestablished contact with 4 formers, talked to a ton of people, had a recent convert move away suddenly, followed up with a ton of former investigators, played with some adorable kittens, and Danita and Brenda are going to be going to the temple!
So, you probably want a few more details... I'll try to elaborate as much as I can.
R is getting baptized on December 8th. It's going to be amazing. The ward is really getting involved with her. We taught her several times and she is totally on board with everything. She came to the ward music night on Friday and made a bunch of friends. She also came to church for the first time yesterday and absolutely loved it! She is so sweet and so amazing. She also has a really big dog named E who just loves to cuddle. So sometimes I leave her house covered in dog hair. Also, her house was built in 1903! And she has a ton of antiques. It's super cool.
So, the creepy guy. We got a call from someone named Y on Monday who had gotten a hold of our number and wanted to meet. So we went to meet him at the library on Thursday with Sister Lochmantez. Turns out Y is a former of the elders, they have no idea how he got our number, Sister Byam has met him before and he really creeped her out, he kept staring at me really weirdly, he seems more interested in getting us to come to church with him and having us listen to him, and he wouldn't explain how he got our number. And he just gave us a really weird feeling. So we aren't going back. Also, I think he somehow thought that by telling us his name was Y and the elders his name was E that we wouldn't connect the dots. But it's a little harder than that to pull a fast one over the missionaries! So we are just avoiding him.
We got in contact with 4 formers, and three of them are super solid. One of them even came to church! That's actually how we got in contact with A. She is a member referrall that we could never get a hold of, and then the member brought her to church. She felt the Spirit super strong, and she is excited to meet with us this week and come to church next week, before she has surgery on the 3rd. What is it with us meeting people about to go in for surgery?!
N, our recent convert, up and moved to Richmond suddenly, and we just found out this morning. She just walked out of the middle of Relief Society and never came back, and then we find out she is in Richmond, which is several hours away! And we are really worried, because she is with her son, who is against the church. Not good.
A and A are two recent converts that I got to teach in Surrey, and Sister Byam, my companion, taught and baptized them, and they are reaching their one year mark! So I will probably get to go to the temple with them! It's so exciting!
I love you all! Happy Thanksgiving!
Sister Peterson
