Westbank, Transfer 6, Week 5, Dec 17, 2013

Hello!
It's been another cold week in Westbank, but it has warmed up enough that we are hovering around freezing usually. Someone was saying we should get up to 5 C tomorrow, which is super warm. I went tracting the other day in just a light cardigan and it felt so good to not have all the weight on me! It's ridiculous that 4 C felt so warm!
R is doing well, her surgery that was supposed to be yesterday has been postponed. Her blood work wasn't good enough. So she got to come to church yesterday, and now it is just a waiting game of finding roommates so T can move out and R can get baptized! She is so ready for this. N has been getting a lot nicer too. And he isn't sitting in on lessons, but he is in the next room instead of leaving entirely. He even came to two activities a member hosted, and he seemed to really enjoy himself. I don't know if I've ever seen him smile before. Really weird. Sister Byam and I are thinking of asking him if he wants to meet with the Kelowna elders (He lives in Kelowna, but since R is his girlfriend, he spends a lot of time at her place). I think he might be softening up.
A is recovering well from her surgery and is really excited about learning. She loves the church! There is such power in member referrals and member work! We never would have even found her if it weren't for the members, as she lives in a basement suite, and we never know where those are, so we can't really knock on them. :)
All the snow has disappeared again :( I'm hoping for at least a little for Christmas. Speaking of Christmas, the Osoyoos Sisters gave us an extra Christmas tree at our zone meeting! I've included a picture of our awesome decorations and the presents.
We finally found a new investigator as well! Her name is L, and she says she is really confused about Christianity right now, because she met this SriLankan woman who raised a lot of questions about things like celebrating Christmas. So we are going to help her answer her questions and learn about the truth in the meantime. She looks like a double of Sandy from Grease! It's crazy. She is also going to bring her mom on Wednesday, which is going to be great! I love it when people bring family along.
Transfer calls are tonight, so I'll let you know what happened next week. I feel like something is going to change, but you never know. This transfer was a week shorter so people won't have to travel on Christmas. Then everyone gets their phone calls. :)
Love you!
Sister Peterson
