Westbank, Transfer 7, Week 1, December 23, 2014

So, I stayed in Westbank! Unfortunately, Sister Byam did not. She got transferred up north to Vanderhoof. She is actually taking the place of Sister Ellgen! And my new companion is Sister Smigel. She was actually Sister Ellgen's MTC companion. It's a crazy small world when you are on a mission. :) She is from Calgary Alberta. I've also been called as a district leader, which is kinda exciting, but kinda scary too. But I'll figure it out. Whom the Lord calls, the Lord qualifies, right?
So, because of transfers, it has been mostly a week of packing and travel. And because it is almost Christmas(!), travel is crazy. For the bus ride down, we were scheduled to leave at 11:15 pm. We didn't actually leave until around midnight, and we didn't get down to Langley until 5 am. So, about 2 hours of sleep on the bus, 1 hour after, and then an all day transfer meeting. I'm surprised I was actually awake for that one. And then our bus back on Friday was so long. It was supposed to leave at 8:55 am. When we got there at 8:15 am, the 7:25 am bus still hadn't left! We ended up leaving around 9:25 am, but with all the traffic and bad roads/weather, we didn't get to Kelowna until 4:30, and we didn't get home to Westbank until around 5:30. It was ridiculous, and I am still super tired.
R is doing well. Her baptism is still scheduled for Sunday, she still just needs that roommate. We are getting a little desperate, and are holding out for a miracle, and at this point, it looks like it is going to be a last minute miracle.
Everyone is getting sick right now, or they have a family member getting sick, so it is super hard to meet with anyone. I'm hoping that after Christmas, when everything starts to slow down a little again that we will be able to find more people. They just all are too busy to talk to us right now. Which is super sad. How can you be too busy to learn about how much God loves you?!
I love you all! Merry Christmas!
Sister Peterson
